2007 AZPC Golf Tournament and Scholarship Information Available Below!

Welcome to the Arizona Professional Chapter of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AzPC of AISES) web site!

   Sherrie Logg, Chair

AzPC of AISES has been a very active and successful professional chapter since our founding in 1999. Our success was recognized when we were awarded the first ever AISES National Professional Chapter of the Year award at the AISES National Conference in 2003. We accepted this award with pride and graciousness, because it reflected on all the work our members have put into our organization over the years. We have been an innovative chapter, being the first AISES professional chapter to sponsor its own golf tournament fundraiser (our Seventh Annual AZPC of AISES Scholarship and Leadership Golf Tournament will be held on October 13, 2007), the first to sponsor an annual scholarship program (we have awarded $18,700 in scholarships), and one of the first to have a formal mentoring program with a university AISES chapter (ASU AISES).

Phoenix hosted one of the first AISES National Conferences in 1980, it has not returned to Phoenix since then. In 2004 our chapter submitted a proposal to the AISES Board of Directors for Phoenix to host the national conference. Our proposal was accepted and Phoenix will host the 2007 AISES National Conference, on November 1 to 3, 2007!

The Arizona Professional Chapter was created to promote AISES, to enable networking among Native professionals, to encourage and support students to pursue engineering, science and technology as a career, and to be a catalyst for the advancement of Native Americans. AzPC of AISES has supported the Native community by the creating and promoting the programs listed in this website.

As Natives of America we have a common bond and heritage. We strive to create a better community for all using the educational and professional opportunities available, while maintaining our Native culture as a base of strength and unity.

We enthusiastically invite you to join us in one of our many established programs. Please review the materials provided in this web site to see how AzPC of AISES can assist you. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
